Oasis of Living Waters

SHALOM!!!  I recently was worshiping the Lord, enveloped in His presence and heard Him speak these words to me:  "Do you see that My presence is shalom? Peace, resting in Me.  No worry about tomorrow.  My perfect love casts out all fear.  My presence makes all else insignificant."

According to Strong's Concordance 7965 Shalom also means completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord. Shalom comes from the root verb shalom meaning to be complete, perfect and full.

The Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology  summarizes shalom this way:

"The biblical concept of peace...rests heavily on the Hebrew root "sh-l-m", which means to be complete or to be sound. The verb conveys both a dynamic and a static meaning—to be complete or whole or to live well. The noun had many nuances, but can be grouped into four categories:

(1) shalom as wholeness of life or body (i.e., health);

(2) shalom as right relationship or harmony between two parties or people, often established by a covenant (see covenant of peace in Nu 25:12,13; Is 54:10; Ezek 34:25,26) and, when related to Yahweh, the covenant was renewed or maintained with a peace offering;

(3) shalom as prosperity, success, or fulfillment (Lev 26:3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9); and

    (4) shalom as victory over one's enemies or absence of war. Shalom was used in both greetings and farewells. It was meant to act as a blessing  on the one to whom it was spoken: May your life be filled with health, prosperity, and victory.

                                                                      *******************************************

                                                        The LORD bless you and keep you
                                     The LORD make His face shine upon you & be gracious to you
                           The LORD lift up His countenance on you & give you SHALOM
.  (Nu 6:24, 25, 26)

  I encourage you to set time aside and worship our Lord until you can feel His manifest presence.  You can enter a place in Him where the cares of this world are cast on Him and all that matters is being with Him and you are free and surrounded by His love and peace.  Be blessed!
